Director of Sales ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Develop positive relationships with customers via phone and email.
Work with customers and prospects to identify new lanes, changing volumes, additional opportunities, and coordinate with sales to bring on the new business.
Schedule, enter, and communicate all customer delivery appointments.
Update corporate customer service on any late deliveries and detentions.
Solicit freight from the assigned geographical region and assigned customer base to our logistics carrier partners.
Manage loads to ensure equipment and drivers are fully utilized.
Communicate service issues to your assigned customers in your designated area.
Communicate with logistics carriers for upcoming freight needs Update daily check call based on shippers requirements.
Check destinations, load capabilities, arrival times, driver capabilities and potential transit delays.
Communicate with customers regarding needs and with sales for opportunities.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft office software.
TMW and mobile communication systems preferred.
Dependable and capable of adapting to a fast-paced working environment.
Must have the ability to modify/change systems to continually improve the overall operations.
Transportation industry experience preferred.
Excellent customer service, planning, and organizational skills.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
