com/ What is the role about? This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include being responsible for all plant operations, including production, maintenance, product quality, safety, inventory, and administration.
The Director of Operations must have excellent problem-solving and communication skills to interact and help train Maintenance, Extraction, Production, and Upper Management for challenges or opportunities.
Duties will also include ensuring compliance with all global regulatory and safety standards, overseeing all production operations in coordination with Process Leads, and overseeing all maintenance and repair needs in coordination with the Manager of the Facility Operations.
The position also requires keeping current with industry advancements to ensure Vantage remains on the leading edge of extraction technology.
Teamwork, leadership, and collaboration are necessary to succeed in this position.
This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer.
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
Managing and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the hemp and botanical extractions, purification, and white-label production.
Generate weekly and rolling monthly production schedules Maintain a list of objectives in order of priority and help coordinate with the management team.
Develop an operating budget, objectives, goals, and provide direction to employees on shift to ensure production schedules and targets are met, quality standards are achieved, equipment is maintained, and work is done safely.
Providing expectations, accountability, and direction to personnel to achieve production targets and budgeted revenue, ROI, yield, and productivity improvements.
Assist operator teams as needed, including management, production, facilities, and troubleshooting.
Manage, monitor, and oversee product quality and inventory.
Lead the introduction of new technologies and processes to improve efficiency or increase throughput.
Responsible for ensuring GMP compliance and overseeing facility safety procedures and schedules, production processes, inventory, and vendor relations.
Serves as a resource for extraction, packaging, and processing staff concerning products and services, policies and procedures, industry news, and changes in regulations.
Maintain accurate records of all packaging and processing activities, including employee records, inventory records, deliveries, and returns, following State laws and regulations, GMP, and Vantage standards.
Responsible for preparing and executing production of various product lines through measuring, mixing, and processing product following the State and standards set by Vantage and outlined in production records.
Ensures consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures outlined by SOP.
Recognize what judgment calls are being or need to be made and seek input to ensure we make the best decisions to reach potential.
Recruit and retain a team of A players; continuously train, coach, and mentor managers and team members to increase productivity and for their career advancement.
Assist with other duties as assigned.
Salary:
$115-140K, depending on prior experience, skills, and education.
What education is needed for this role? A Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Material Science, Operations Management, Business, or another related field, and a combination of education and equivalent relevant years of experience.
Do you have this experience? 7
years of management experience in a production facility/manufacturing environment, prior experience in hemp/CBD and Cannabis preferable.

years of prior management experience and responsibility for managing P&L statements.
3
years of GMP manufacturing experience.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently, think critically, and problem-solve a broad range of technical issues are required.
Strong decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient knowledge of preventive maintenance and process improvement methodologies.
Expert knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO 9001 equipment requirements.
Proficient knowledge of maintenance functions in an FDA-regulated facility.
Possess a strong knowledge of CBD and a solid understanding of the market, competition, and business opportunities.
