Select Staffing has an immediate opening for a Quality Inspector lead for a manufacturing facility in the Greeley area.
Summary:
The Mechanical Quality Inspector performs quality inspections on a variety of scopes and manufactured parts to ensure that the product consistently meets company and customer standards. This position is responsible for maintaining the quality control process by evaluating strategies, policies, processes and procedures. This position will help create and maintain a quality philosophy at all levels throughout the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for maintaining the quality inspection process ensuring that the products are in accordance with standards, plans and specifications.
Prepare, present and recommend changes in methods, tooling and/or inspection and testing procedures.
Perform inspections on mechanical components for rifle scopes using precision measuring equipment such as CMM, micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages and optical comparator.
Performs and verifies visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspection functions using company supplied blue prints, equipment, and/or procedures; must visually perceive minute irregularities and debris on the internal and external surface of the optical lens.
Works with quality, engineering, and manufacturing personnel to assure effective performance of quality function and to resolve any problems
Analyze and recommend continuous improvement practices; communicate issues with engineers, managers and other project team members.
Manage scheduling to ensure efficient and effective product testing; identify and report risks to project schedule and product quality and propose new methods to control and/or mitigate risks.
Generate effective progress reports and present quality control information to managers and other team members
Troubleshoot and solve assembly and quality process issues as needed
Maintain and improve an ISO quality system and communicate frequently on status
Manage multiple high and low level priority projects.
Conduct internal audits and take proper action
Enter in data and fill out reports as required using company computer software program.
Education/
Experience:
High School diploma or GED required and 2
years of hands-on testing experience working in manufacturing/mechanical environment. Experience and knowledge of industry standard best practices
Experience and demonstrated proficiency using a CMM and GD&T; Measure run-out and concentricity on axis-symmetric parts produced on a lathe and find true position on a variety of parts produced on a mill
Experience and knowledge with ISO standards and auditing
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficiency in measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, indicator, thread gages) and gage R&R
Ability to read and interpret blue prints
Ability to translate from business requirements to technical testing solutions
Advanced math skills and the ability to perform operations using measurements
Ability to analyze information and solve problems
Strong interpersonal skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to work in teams or independently
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient computer skills and data entry
Pay and Benefits
Long-Term temp to hire position with advancement opportunities. Benefits available.
Pay= 19hr-22hr
